Story Contracting attend MOD’s Employer Recognition Scheme Gold Awards

Story Contracting are proud to be one of only two organisations in Cumbria to receive a gold award at this years MOD Employer Recognition Scheme Gold Award event.

The Employer Recognition Scheme is aimed at formally recognising those companies or organisations that honour their Armed Forces Covenant and provide help and assistance to those serving or who have served in the regular, reserve and cadet forces and their spouses.

Gold is the highest level of accolade and Story was awarded this for the help it provides service leavers seeking employment, the annual placements it provides to the Royal School of Military Engineering and the work it does promoting the rail industry as a career choice to those who have served in the military.

Simon Higgens, Business Development Director collected the award on behalf of Story at the ceremony. He said: “I am incredibly proud that Story has been recognised for all the excellent work that it does with our Service personnel, Veterans, Reservists, Cadet Instructors and their spouses.  Story values the contribution and sacrifice that they make while serving and once they have left the military, it is only right that we help them as much as we can.

From offering a guaranteed interview for all Service leavers applying for a role in Story, to providing an extra 10 days paid leave per year for all Reservists, Story actively recruits those who have or who are serving and benefits enormously from the qualities and skills that they bring with them.”
