Story Contracting has officially relocated its Normanton office to a new, larger base on Red Hall Crescent in Wakefield, marking an exciting milestone in its journey across the Eastern region.
What began as a small Eastern team of fewer than ten colleagues has grown into a thriving business unit of more than 100 people. The move to a new 5000 sqm office marks the next chapter in that journey, providing the space needed to support the team’s continued development, while enabling further recruitment and enhancing delivery for clients.
The Wakefield office was officially opened on 25 June 2026, with Owner, Fred Story, joining colleagues to celebrate the occasion and reflect on how far the team has come.

The Wakefield office will accommodate for the increase in colleague whom I look forward to welcoming into the business whilst providing an environment where our teams can develop multi sector experience, utilising our proven track record of overseeing safe and predictable delivery of Complex infrastructure.”
