We are seeking an experienced and organised Stores Supervisor/Tool Fitter to start their story with us, supporting our Plant Services team from our Birmingham Depot. We are looking for someone who embodies our values of being hard‑working, grounded and proud of the work they do.
The right candidate will ensure the safe, efficient and profitable supply and hire of small plant, tools and consumables. You will manage stock levels, respond to site and client requirements, and ensure all equipment is certified, fit for purpose and fully compliant with statutory safety and testing standards.
The role includes overseeing hire and return processes, managing quarantine and servicing priorities, issuing consumables and PPE, maintaining accurate records for audit and HSE purposes. You will also maintain high standards across stores, yard and quarantine areas, promote HSQE compliance, develop customer relationships and continuously seek opportunities to improve processes and efficiency.
To be successful in this role you will need:
- Experience within the tool hire industry and associated working practices
- Proven supervisory experience
- Strong knowledge of safety, equipment assurance and testing legislation
- Good working knowledge of construction and rail environments
- Excellent organisation, time management and attention to detail
- Strong customer focus with effective communication and interpersonal skills
- IT confidence using MS Office, Outlook and plant hire systems
- A process‑driven mindset, with knowledge of Lean / 5S principles
- A positive, proactive ‘can‑do’ attitude
