We have an exciting opportunity for a Site Agent to join our Story Scotland division, based from our Blantyre office - and there has never been a better time to join!

The Role – Site Agent

Working within the Civils and Energy team, the suitable candidate will have experience of a variety of civils experience, such as reinforced concrete structures and bridges, large scale earthworks operations, land retainment, underground services/drainage, and road construction. Candidates ideally should have experience in minor civils works such has concrete remedials, bridge refurbishments and tunnel maintenance. 

The suitable candidate will be responsible for the overall management, of the project, reporting into the Project Manager, with the below the key roles and responsibilities:

Site Management:

  • Ensure the commercial performance of the contract is maximised.
  • Assume overall responsibility for the successful delivery of projects.
  • Deliver work safely and without environmental incidents.
  • Maintain specified quality standards without defects.
  • Produce and implement Project Plans, RAMS (Risk Assessment and Method Statement), ITPs (Inspection and Test Plans), and waste management plans.
  • Create and manage project programmes.
  • Handle procurement schedules and liaise with the procurement department to ensure adequate resources on-site.

Client Interface:

  • Represent the business to customers, public, and third parties.
  • Deliver the end product to customer satisfaction.

Cost Control:

  • Populate and manage the cost plan for the project alongside the commercial team
  • Maximize project value.
  • Maintain detailed site diaries/records.
  • Drive out costs and challenge the status quo.

Reporting:

  • Produce accurate monthly reports for the Client and internally.
  • Chair weekly site meetings.

The Ideal Candidate:

  • Considerable experience in Civil Engineering.
  • Working knowledge of NEC contract conditions, CDM regulations, Design Management, Programme and Risk Management, and cost control.
  • Valid CSCS manager’s card.
  • Excellent communication, people, and team management skills.
  • Excellent working knowledge of IT systems, specifically Microsoft Office suite
  • SMSTS 5 Day Site Safety certified
  • Full driving licence
  • The ability to challenge in a constructive and positive manner
  • Qualified to degree level in civil engineering and / or construction or equivalent experience
  • Ability to work on own initiative and as part of a team
  • Ability to build relationships with key stakeholders at all levels
  • Demonstrate the right behaviours and lead the team in line with Story values.R
