We are looking for an experienced Senior Estimator to join our Eastern region. This is a great opportunity to take a leading role in developing competitive, high-quality tenders and helping shape Story’s future pipeline of work.
Reporting to the Estimating Manager, you'll be responsible for preparing and leading tender submissions across a range of projects, ensuring bids are commercially robust, accurately priced and aligned with client requirements. You'll play an important role in our work-winning strategy and contribute directly to the growth of the business.

Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage the full tender process from first enquiry through to submission
- Prepare high quality, competitive tenders that deliver value for money
- Build and maintain strong, collaborative relationships with clients and key stakeholders
- Work effectively with internal teams to ensure smooth communication and clear project handovers
- Support continuous improvement by enhancing processes and helping strengthen our work winning capability
About you
You will bring:
• HNC (or higher) in Construction, Built Environment, or a related field, or 10+ years of proven industry experience
• High proficiency in Microsoft Windows and the full Office suite
• Estimating software experience (Causeway Estimating preferable)
• Extensive experience of civil engineering estimating within the Rail, Highways, Water and Energy sectors.
• A self motivated, resilient attitude with the ability to lead and influence
• Strong analytical and problem solving skills
• Excellent communication and presentation skills, with confidence in client facing environments
