Machine Operator
We have an exciting opportunity in the Eastern region for a Machine Operator to join our site team.
The Role
We’re looking for a skilled and safety-focused Machine Operator with experience operating 360° excavators (under and over 10 tonnes) on rail and civil engineering projects.
This role involves a variety of infrastructure works, including embankment regrading, drainage installation, and ground stabilisation.
The ideal candidate will be a reliable team player who can also work independently while maintaining high standards of safety and quality.
Location
Site based, locations vary depending on project assigned.

The Ideal Candidate
The ideal candidate will bring a strong background in rail and civil engineering environments, with a proven ability to operate 360° excavators (below and above 10 tonnes) safely and efficiently. They will:
- Hold valid PTS and CPCS certifications for relevant plant categories.
- Demonstrate hands-on experience in embankment works, drainage installation, and ground stabilisation.
- Be confident working on steep gradients, in confined spaces, and to tight tolerances using machine control or grade checkers.
- Possess a solid understanding of earthworks specifications, site drawings, and safe excavation practices.
- Be highly safety-conscious, with knowledge of RAMS, SSOW, plant exclusion zones, and environmental controls.
- Work collaboratively with site teams while also showing initiative and independence.
- Be reliable, punctual, and adaptable to changing site conditions.
