Festive cheer for UK charities from Story Contracting’s Christmas Campaign

12 charities throughout the UK have received backing from Story Contracting’s Christmas Campaign this festive season.

In Brighouse, Focus4Hope received a donation of over 80 toys which had been collected by the team in the Eastern region to ensure that children in West Yorkshire could wake up to a present under the tree on Christmas day.

As part of a new partnership with Walking With The Wounded, #TeamStory raised money by putting on their best festive attire and taking part in their Walking Home for Christmas campaign. In total, £1,150 is going to the charity to support they work they do to re-ignite wounded veterans sense of purpose and get back them back on their feet with positive physical and mental health.

To help spread the festive cheer, Story have donated £250 worth of toys to Derbyshire County Council, as they have found that children in their care (who are either in foster care or often homeless due to family circumstance or social services involvement) will quite possibly not be receiving any presents this year.

Carlisle Youth Zone (CYZ) has received a donation of £1,500 to help them support some of Carlisle’s most disadvantaged families. This comes as a continuation of support the company provide to CYZ throughout the year as one of their charity partners.

In Manchester, 42nd Street, a charity that works to support young people with their emotional wellbeing and mental health, have received a donation of £750  to enable them to continue with the work they do for people in the area.

As one of our charity partners, Crisis Skylight Birmingham have also received a donation of £750 worth of items for children and baby presents, to help support them with their wishlist of items which will go towards the people that they work with to rebuild their lives and leave homelessness behind for good.

In Partnership with client Ayrshire Roads Alliance, £200 worth of selection boxes have been donated to LL33’s community Christmas challenge to bring a smile to young and vulnerable children living in East Ayrshire.

As a continuation of the support Story provide for The Howarth Foundation, £1,000 has been donated this festive season. Half of the money donated will go directly to funding the wage of someone who had previously experiences homelessness, and is now employed by the charity to help get him back on track, whilst also aiding those in a similar position.

Simon Community have received a donation of £1,000, which will help them to continue to provide information, advice, care, support, accommodation and homes to people experiencing, or at risk of, homelessness.

At Edinburgh Waverly station, Story have donated a Christmas tree to spread the cheer and bring some magic to the station during the festive period.

The team working on the Shields Road project have supported The Louise Project, a charity which helps people from a wide variety of cultural backgrounds and aims to tackle generational poverty in the area. The team donated 55 hand wrapped toiletry sets to women who attend classes ran by the charity.

Finally, a donation has been made to the Trussell Trust from the team in Blantyre, to help provide food to those who find themselves in crisis and need support.
