Story Contracting are a leading, award winning, rail, civil engineering and plant hire specialist based in Cumbria with offices across the north of England and Scotland. Due to planned growth, we are now recruiting for a Transport Manager.
We have an extensive plant hire fleet of machinery suitable for undertaking even the most complex of projects, for hire anywhere in the country. Our Road Rail Vehicles (RRVs) and attachments are some of the most innovative and up to date that you will find on the infrastructure.
Reporting to the Regional Manager, you will be required to oversee the end to end Transport provision, including planning and co-ordination, ensuring all plant allocations and haulage is carried out effectively and efficiently. Meeting customer needs and ensuring compliance with safety regulations.
Key responsibilities will include:
- Providing cost effective Plant transport solutions that meet business, customer, and regulatory requirements
- Ensuring that the transport operation is compliant with Health and Safety requirements and is legally compliant
- Ensuring that all Plant is delivered to site on time, and to customer requirements
- Providing clear visibility, and reporting, of transport plan utilising existing software systems
You will be able to use your organisational skills, to manage in this customer and safety focused environment. You must be CPC certified and have some experience of management within the plant and transport industry. Experience in the use of Syrinx would be great however this is not essential.
