We have an exciting opportunity for a Transport Manager to begin their story with Story Plant Ltd. We are looking for someone who embodies our values of being hardworking, grounded, and proud of the work they do. Location is flexible across our operating depots spanning the UK.
As Transport Manager you will oversee and manage all transport operations, ensuring compliance, cost efficiency, and optimal utilisation of the fleet and its resources. You will have a focus on subcontractor relationships and cost control to ensure financial efficiency and seamless collaboration, driving results that align with the Company's vision.
To be successful in this role, you will need:
• A minimum 3 years’ experience of Managing Transport
• In-depth knowledge of Special Types Goods Order regulations and other relevant transportation laws and regulations
• Demonstrable people leadership and development skills
• Ability to cultivate a culture of accountability and high performance
• To be commercially astute, able to understand good net profitability and adverse revenue performance
• Supply Chain Management, or a related field
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
• Analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a focus on continuous improvement.
• Proficiency in transportation management software and Microsoft Office suite.
