Celebrating over 30 years in the general construction industry, and with over 20 years’ experience of permanent way and rail related building and civil engineering projects, Story Contracting has grown into a highly respected company.  As part of that continued growth, we now have a new opportunity for a Regional Engineering Manager within the North West & Central region of our Rail Division.‚Äč

Duties will include:

  • To partner the Operations Director (Western) in delivering the operational engineering management and growing the portfolio of works within the region.
  • To provide technical assurance to the project cycle by carrying out the role of Contractors Engineering Manager (CEM).
  • Support the project teams in delivering the business plan by providing technical expertise and best practice in specialist disciplines.
  • Lead the engineering management function for the Region and deliver the role in accordance with Procedure for Engineering Management and other associated Story Contracting procedures.Develop Contractors Responsible Engineer (CRE) and Contractors Engineering Manager (CEM) capability within Story Contracting by providing Continuous Professional Development, mentorship, and guidance to candidates. 

You will be qualified to degree level, HNC/HND or equivalent in Civil Engineering and a Chartered Engineer in a relevant discipline (desirable). As a Regional Engineering Manager, you should also be a member of industry relevant association and have experience of working within the rail industry with a high level of proven capability in the Story Contracting core discipline areas and an overall knowledge of multidisciplinary work areas.
