We have an exciting opportunity for a Refurb Electrician to join our workshop in Carlisle, working with our growing fleet of some of the most sophisticated Road Rail Vehicles on the rail infrastructure.

The Role

Reporting to our Mechanical Electrical Engineer, you will work as part of a team or unsupervised depending on the job, carrying out electrical maintenance to machines and attachments.

Working as part of our Refurbishment team on our machines and attachments, your duties will include:

- Reading and interpreting electrical plans and diagrams
- Designing electrical circuits and wiring diagrams
- Modifying electrical circuits, assessing cable sizes and AMP capacity
- Checking and testing of the wiring and vehicle parts
- Fault finding and rectification work
- Loom building

You will use all your previous experience to ensure Health and Safety requirements are met and that all work carried out satisfies statutory regulations/standards.

The Ideal Candidate

  • Are City & Guilds or NVQ Level 2 in Auto Electrics
  • Has experience of working on Rail Plant machines and equipment. This is preferred but not essential.
  • Self-motivated, and well organised
  •  Thrives by working in an environment that is fast paced
  • Has a proactive, solutions focused approach.
  • Excellent attention to detail
