We have an exciting opportunity for a Project Manager  to join our Rail Division, based from our Birmingham office - and there has never been a better time to join!

The Role

As a Project Manager at Story Contracting you will lead a workbank of projects from inception to successful conclusion as well as lead multi-team collaboration to foster a joint approach to project design, development and delivery.

Please note this role is based near Bicester with the regional office in Birmingham. 

Key Responsibilities;

  • Lead teams through design, development and delivery with effective project management.
  • Maximise commercial performance of projects to achieve and exceed business plan.
  • Lead by example to embed high HSQE standards in project teams.
  • Ensure engineering compliance and strive for engineering excellence.
  • Lead the construction process.
  • Build and maintain strong client relationships.

The Ideal Candidate:

  • Qualified to degree level, HNC/HND or equivalent in Civil Engineering
  • Working towards Chartered/Incorporated Engineer status in a relevant discipline
  • Experience of working within the rail industry with a level of proven capability in the Story Contracting core discipline areas and an overall knowledge of multidisciplinary work areas.
  • Understanding of site working environments and protocols
  • Good knowledge of Network Rail Standards and Governance
  • Experience of working with and driving a high level of engineering principles
  • Good working knowledge of H&S regulations and legislation
  • Experience of working within highly regulatory environments
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Excellent influencing skills
  • Effective team player
