We are currently recruiting for an experienced Plant Tools Fitter to join our Stores department in Blantyre. You will be dedicated to and play a pivotal role in the success and growth of the department.

The Role

As a Plant Tools Fitter, you will be working as part of a small enthusiastic team providing maintenance, servicing, and testing of small tools and equipment in our workshop and on-site Responsibilities include:

  • Small plant inspections, servicing & repairs
  • PAT testing
  • Ensuring servicing schedules followed and up to date
  • Carrying out routine safety inspections
  • Supporting and encourage safe working practices for all staff and operatives.
  • Ensuring existing 5s principles are adhered to
  • Ensuring an efficient customer service is offered and maintained

The Ideal Candidate

  • Relevant mechanical qualifications or experience
  • Experience of working on small plant and equipment
  • Knowledge of small plant & equipment e.g., Generators, Stone Saws, Power Tools
  • Good communication skills
  • Ability to work under pressure and to deadlines
  • Good PC skills
  • Problem solving skills
  • Able to work to statutory regulations and standards.

Additional but not essential

  • PAT testing certificate
  • Safety training in Abrasive wheels, Manual Handling & Forklift truck
